Report: Belarus to have no problems with Russian oil supplies

MINSK, Jun 1 (PRIME) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expects no problems with supplies of Russian oil to the country in light of Western sanctions as he reached an agreement with Moscow, state news agency SB Belarus Segodnya reported on Tuesday citing Lukashenko.

The governments of the two countries have conducted extensive work on oil supplies following introduction of Western sanctions against Minsk. “At least, we agreed that there will be no issues with oil supplies. It is beneficial for Russia. We can refine 22 million tonnes of oil or even more,” Lukashenko said as quoted by the agency.

There will be no deficit in any oil products in Russia as Belarus has enough capacities to cover any possible deficit, he said. Russian President Vladimir Putin said as cited by Lukashenko that there will be no problems with oil delivery to Belarusian refineries, so there will be no problems with exports of Belarusian oil products to Russia or external market.

Lukashenko also said that Putin and he discussed the price of Russian gas for Belarus.

“This issue has not been solved yet. In this regard, the president promised me that they would get together and think about the way of helping Belarus with the gas price in this situation. I have a feeling that we will be able to buy gas from Russia next year at a price no higher than this year’s price,” Lukashenko said.

Another state news agency BelTA reported citing Lukashenko that Putin and he also agreed to minimize the losses of Belarusian oil refineries from the Russian oil tax maneuver.

“We found resolutions over the oil tax maneuver. I mean, we didn’t find them, our governments did, we just coordinated and approved them. We will continue having dialogues and agreements,” Lukashenko said as quoted by BelTA.
